2007 Celebration

"Come
Home to Virginia.....Our Nation's Birthplace"
2007 marks
the 400th anniversary of the founding of Jamestown.
A statewide celebration, called "COME HOME TO VIRGINIA"
is being planned. This will be a yearlong celebration beginning
in the Spring of 2006 continuing through the Summer/Fall of 2007.
A key feature of the celebration is a concept called Virginia
2007 Community. Communities across the state are invited to obtain
designation as an official Virginia 2007 Community and plan and
carry out a special project and celebration events.
Scott County
is a certified Jamestown 2007 community and is planning several
Legacy Projects and Signature Events.
Some of the
projects and events that are being developed are listed below.
Look for more information on this site as events are finalized.
